The coffee tree (coffea arabica) is native to the highlands of Ethiopia and Yemen where it grows in the shade of larger trees. It is therefore very suitable as a houseplant. After 3-4 years you can harvest the first beans. Coffee from this plant is as sustainable as it gets!
